San Jose police seek suspect who struck officer while fleeing

A U S Fish and Wildlife Services officer was struck by a suspect in an off-road truck Friday night as they fled from the area of Grand Boulevard and Los Esteros Road in the residential neighborhood of Avilo according to the San Jose Police Department The Fish and Wildlife officer attempted to detain the suspect when the suspect drove their Can-Am off-road bicycle into the officer The Fish and Wildlife officer fired at least one shot toward the fleeing suspect s conveyance but could not confirm if the bullet hit the subject the San Jose Police Department reported in a comment on X SJPD received a call at p m for the published shooting SJPD officers transferred the Fish and Wildlife Services officer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries The officer was issued from the hospital as of Sunday morning according to SJPD SJPD stated the suspect is unidentified and still at large The analysis is ongoing
